The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be a part of Delta IT team supporting Delta Flight Products (DFP). DFP is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, established to re-think aircraft interiors and in-flight entertainment systems. Starting with only 10 employees in 2016, the DFP team is working every day to create groundbreaking advancements in the aviation industry. We provide full-service engineering, certification, and manufacturing to create innovative aircraft interior solutions to airlines around the world. Our 111,000-square-foot facility in Atlanta, GA is a certified FAA 145 repair station, fully equipped with a machine shop, engineering labs, wire harness fabrication, testing, and certification.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer works to improve the Reliability and Resiliency of Delta Software Solutions to meet the business requirements by implementing SRE tools, processes, and standard methodologies. SRE is what happens when you ask a software engineer to design an operations function. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer designs, develops, tests, debugs, and automates tasks for applications. They troubleshoot incidents to address failure patterns, automate remediation through runbooks, and document application optimization.


  • Responsible for integrations with Delta Flight Products enterprise applications both internal and external
  • Responsible for ETL from DFP enterprise applications; will also perform some automation coding within the enterprise platforms
  • Develop/maintain helper apps as needed within the DFP ecosystem
  • Analyze, design, and document applications/integrations to meet enterprise requirements
  • Work as part of the development team to evaluate the health, stability, and reliability of applications
  • Utilize monitoring, alerts, dashboards, and management tools to ensure the availability, reliability and performance of applications and services
  • Monitor, manage, and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved
  • Constantly work to improve and implement automation of applications tasks
  • Provide technical support for systems/platforms according to applications SLAs
  • Configure services, such as databases and monitoring
  • Fix problems from the development phase through the production phase, which requires being on call for production support
  • Support a reliable application suite for the environment to meet the development and maintenance requirements of systems/platforms
  • Lead and mentor junior team members and software engineers
  • Understand technical/business requirements captured from the business units
  • Install, customize, maintain, test, and troubleshoot integrations and applications
  • Configure, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot systems
  • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, and to prevent recurring problems
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies for enterprise use to consistently drive down total cost of ownership
  • Perform technical reviews comparing enterprise standard platform components with that of their leading industry competitors
  • Advise other team members (i.e application administrators) to configure platforms for product installation
  • Design and document enterprise standards and procedures
  • Ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise/industry standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.) and reference models
  • Implement changes to platforms with minimal impact to the business by following enterprise standards and procedures
  • Coordinate activities with internal/external technology owners/service providers


  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience as a, Systems Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or related technical engineering capacity
  • Knowledge of open systems and platforms; ability to work with open systems architecture, open formats, underlying standards, and development and support of software for open environments
  • Knowledge of software engineering; ability to deliver new or enhanced software products
  • Proficient in C# or JS, and SQL
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to use formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices, and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications
  • Knowledge of production applications; ability to monitor application functions and resolve issues to maintain optimal conditions for system applications
  • Knowledge of the theories and methodologies of reliability engineering; ability to design, develop and support various tools, services, and applications to maintain a reliable site environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical field
  • Proficient in one or more dlls, windows services, ERP, PLM, REST, Azure
  • Experience with supporting COTS, ERP products, PLM products and integration set up
  • Understanding of Linux and Windows Server Administration
  • Experience with Cloud development and design tools, including AWS and Azure
  • Understanding of partitioning, archival, and retention strategies
  • Knowledge of ETL & BI tools, ideally Tableau, PowerBI
  • Knowledge of web services and/or Enterprise Application Integration
  • Knowledge of concepts, values and tools applied in building Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipeline
  • Ability to design, build, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to achieve the automation of software delivery process.
  • Experience engineering software within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure or other prominent enterprise cloud provider.
  • Experience in containerized workloads and management platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience working in an airline technology environment
